Kapelle – Concordia University Chicago

On Sunday, March 5th we will be blessed to host Concordia Chicago’s touring choir, the Kapelle, as part of our district’s celebration of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation.  On Sunday evening, they will perform a choral concert based on the theme “No Greater Love”, 7pm at Leon Hall on the campus of Adams State University.  A dessert reception will follow at Trinity Lutheran Church in Alamosa, CO.

Thank you to everyone helping to host the singers and provide them with a warm welcome!

Reading through the Bible

With a new church year beginning last Sunday with Advent, Pastor is encouraging us to read through the entire Bible in one year.  It was the Synod’s recommendation during convention this past summer that all congregations try to do this in observation of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation.  Be in the Word!  Above, you will find a tab for the weekly readings and corresponding questions to help you think about what you’re reading, and help you prepare for discussions in adult Sunday School (9am Sunday mornings in the church basement).

Blessings!

Christmas Trees

Many thanks to those who helped provide our Christmas trees this year!  It was a beautiful day up in the mountains.

Lord, you have been our dwelling place
    throughout all generations.
Before the mountains were born
or you brought forth the whole world,
from everlasting to everlasting you are God. – Ps. 90:1-2

Reformation Fun Run

The Youth helped clean up the mesa at the FARM river property last Saturday in preparation for the Reformation Fun Run.  (See additional photos on the Youth page)

We had a handful of participants for the 1.5 mi. course, which you could repeat for a full 5K. (Go, Pastor!)

It was a blessed evening of fellowship, fire, stars and exercise.  Way to go!
