honoring veterans

DSCN0377 DSCN0379 DSCN0384 Lord Jesus Christ, you came to this earth and were laid in a manger as the angels announced, “Peace on Earth.” As we lay these wreaths and remember the sacred honor of the veterans that hallow this ground, remind us of their courage and service in the efforts to procure our country’s peace. We do not need to look far in this world today to see that we need more of their kind to continue the fight and protect the innocent.  We cannot understand why there are those who seek to kill children even as Herod did when you were born.  So we pray that while we wait for your final coming you would continue to raise up those who will serve with honor and courage, so that the kingdom of your Word and the kingdom of power might stand fast in your mission of peace. – Pastor Stults

Thank you, Youth, for your donation.

Parade of Lights

the float that we pulled as we walked

The choir participated in Monte Vista’s “Parade of Lights” last Saturday. Some of us dressed as shepherds and angels, and we followed a manger scene portraying baby Jesus underneath a stable and star through the streets of downtown.  We rang chimes, played a drum, and sang “Angels We Have Heard on High” as we walked (not always an easy task)!  It was a blessing to participate together, and how wonderful it was to proclaim Christ to streets full of people!

Be sure to re-read Pastor’s sermon from Sunday about parades!!  (See the link to the right)

[Congratulations to the choir!  We were awarded 3rd place!]
